Thousand Islands Satpol PP Continues to Alert Personnel on Lancang Island

We are available to help prepare and provide for the search team's needs

Entering the third day of searching for downed Sriwijaya Air SJ-182, the Thousand Islands Satpol PP still continues to deploy its personnel at the Lancang Island Post, Pari Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district.

Thousand Islands Satpol PP Head Rahmat Lubis said, every day, as many as 20 personnel were on standby alternately at the post, which aimed to smoothen the search for Sriwijaya Air plane in the waters of the Thousand Islands.

"We are available to help prepare and provide for the search team's needs. Lancang Island is also a place for consolidation and logistics for all related agencies," he expressed, Tuesday (1/12).

Apart from divers, he told, there were also those who were deployed to search by boat and stand guard at the post.

"The sweeping by boat is done in the territorial waters of Laki Island, Lancang Island, and Untung Jawa Island. For operations in the field, we coordinate with Basarnas," he stated.
